Laconia Historical and Museum Society

When: Stop by Sacred Heart Church's parish hall on April 12th between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm to sample a variety of pork pies.  The public chooses the winner!  

Admission: $5 gets you six tastings of your choice and a voting ballot.  Vote for your favorite and submit it to us that evening.  Voting ends at 7:15.

So you wanna try them all???!   No problem.  Another $5 gets you another 6 tastings.  Each contestant is guaranteed to have 32 slices available. 

Beverages/Desserts: will be available at a low cost.

50/50 Raffle & Silent Auction:  Try your luck in our 50/50 raffle.  All proceeds go to benefit the educational programs at the Laconia Historical & Museum Society.

LHMS welcomes you to submit your favorite pork pie recipe for our cook-off.  DEADLINE APRIL 5TH.

To Enter:
Please send us your name, address, phone number, email address (if applicable), and the title of your recipe (example- Grandpa Joe's pork pie).  Send it to Laconia Historical & Museum Society, PO Box 1126, Laconia, NH 03247.  Email to lhmslpl@metrocast.net.  or call 603.527.1278

Rules: 

1. Each contestant must enter two pies (although you're perfectly welcome to enter more than two! The more you serve the more you expose your recipe to the public!). 
2. Pies must be made in a 9" pie pan.
3. Each pie must be cut into 16 slices and delivered warm. 
4. Contestants must be on hand the evening of April 12th to serve their pie to the public.  Please arrive at 5:30 to set up your station.

Prizes:
The winner will be announced around 7:30 pm.  The top three contestants will win a chef's hat and apron from Lakes Region Linen as well as a prize pack from one of the following diners: The Tilt'n Diner in Tilton, The Soda Shoppe Restaurant in Laconia, and the Red Arrow Diner in Manchester, NH, . 

Recipe Book Offer:

LHMS is collecting French-Canadian recipes for a small cookbook publication entitled "Je t'aime Laconia: the cookbook."  We'd love to add your recipe to the Pork Pie chapter.  Proceeds go to support educational programming at Laconia Historical & Museum Society.
