bringing the history of Laconia into the 21st century

Summer 2011- Center Stage: history of theater

Laconia Historical announces the opening of its summer exhibit.  Center Stage: a history of theater in the Laconia area will be on display at the Laconia Public Library between July and September, 2011, during normal library hours.  Co-curators for the project include Thompson-Ames Historical Society, Streetcar Company, and Winnipesaukee Playhouse.

Historical memorabilia will also include items from the Gilford/Lakes Region Playhouse, Moulton Opera House, and Folsom Opera House.  Personal loans from local residents will relate to Laconians who performed on a national level, such as Stan West and Hank Decato.  Center Stage was designed with the support of the Laconia Public Library and Lakes Region Association.
